Answers to Your Most Common Questions

Do I need an appointment to be seen?

Yes. All visits at Intercoastal Health are scheduled by appointment to ensure adequate time for evaluation, discussion, and care planning.

What should I expect during my initial evaluation?

Your initial visit includes a comprehensive medical history review, symptom assessment, and discussion of health goals. If clinically appropriate, laboratory testing may be reviewed or ordered to guide next steps.

Are treatments the same for every patient?

No. Care at Intercoastal Health is individualized. Treatment recommendations are based on medical history, laboratory data, symptoms, and clinical appropriateness—not standardized protocols.

Do you accept insurance?

Intercoastal Health accepts automobile insurance only for services related to auto accident care. We do not bill health insurance plans for other medical services, which are provided on a self-pay basis. This model allows for extended visits, individualized care, and advanced treatment options. Our team is happy to review pricing and payment details during scheduling.

Are laboratory tests included in the visit cost?

Laboratory testing is ordered only when clinically indicated and is may be billed separately based on appointment type, evaluation or follow-up. Your provider will determine laboratories that may be indicated and a member of our team will discuss cost prior to proceeding.

Is hormone therapy safe?

When prescribed appropriately and monitored closely, hormone therapy can be safe for selected individuals. All treatments require medical evaluation, informed consent, and ongoing monitoring.

Do you treat both men and women?

Yes. Intercoastal Health provides medical services for both men and women, with treatment approaches tailored to sex-specific physiology, clinical indications, and individual health goals.

How often will follow-up visits be required?

Follow-up frequency depends on the type of treatment, laboratory findings, and clinical response. Your provider will outline a personalized monitoring plan.

Can I combine services, such as hormone therapy and functional medicine?

Yes. When clinically appropriate, care plans may integrate multiple services—such as functional medicine, hormone therapy, or peptide therapy—to support overall health.
